Thinking of installing artificial grass yourself? Here are a few of our key questions to help you make your mind up.
How easy is it to install a Royal Grass Lawn myself?
If you have a smaller area where you are thinking of fitting artificial grass it is completely realist that if you have a little DIY skill and confidence that you would be able to fit the grass yourself. We would always advise that if fitting the grass yourself you go for areas that do not exceed 2m or 4m in width as this is where it can get a little tricky.
The key to a stable, beautiful artificial lawn is in the sub-base preparation work and so we do strongly advise that you take your time or get advise on this.
Will i need specialist tools?
Most of the work can be done by hand with a little elbow grease. The only tool we would advise is the hire of a vibration plate to compact the stone and sand layer under the grass as this will save you a lot of time and give you a much stronger base than if you were to do this by hand.
How about if i need a join in the grass?
We would advise any gardens that exceed 4m width and would need a join are to be installed by our professional team. The join is one of the trickiest parts of fitting artificial grass and if it is done incorrectly it will be an expensive correction as the grass cannot be re-used.
Do i get any guidance or help?
